gradient bottom to top syntax for quiz......

Set the second color stop's position to 90%. Then, add the value that sets the gradient direction from bottom to top.

/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below / .main-header { background-image: linear-gradient (steelblue, darkslateblue 90%, *blank); }

I've looked through all the resources ccs tricks, mdn, and my learning web deisng 4th edition NOTHING about bottom to top so how is it supposed to be written according to this frustrating quiz? Sometimes I wish they were more clear or at the very least if they ask for something demonstrate it in the lesson

style.css
/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
.main-header {
  background-image: linear-gradient (steelblue, darkslateblue 90%, to top);
}
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>Lake Tahoe</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="page.css">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">
  </head>
  <body>
    <header id="top" class="main-header">
      <span class="title">Journey Through the Sierra Nevada Mountains</span>
      <h1 class="main-heading">Lake Tahoe, California</h1>
    </header>

        <div class="primary-content">
            <p class="intro">
                Lake Tahoe is one of the most breathtaking attractions located in California. It's home to a number of ski resorts, summer outdoor recreation, and tourist attractions. Snow and skiing are a significant part of the area's reputation.
            </p>
            <a class="callout" href="#more">Find out more</a>
        </div><!-- End .primary-content -->
  </body>
</html>

You almost have it, the to top part needs to be the first bit you set as it is for the gradient as a whole.

.main-header {
  background-image: linear-gradient (to top, steelblue, darkslateblue 90%);
}
