Yeah your code is missing so its hard to see where the error is, you will want to do something like this though:

  <div class="container clearfix"> <!-- NOTICE THIS DIV WITH THE CLASSES CONTAINER AND CLEARFIX -->
    <div id="featured-cupcake">
      <h2>Cupcake of the Week</h2>
      <img src="img/featured-cupcake.jpg">
    </div>
