Hi there! For the second step of the challenge you need to concatenate the value of $firstName with $lastName. That part you did fine. There's no need for a new line character. Although, if there had been your new line character would be incorrect as it is not joined with a period/full stop to indicate concatenation and it would look like "\n". Note the direction of the slash.

In short, remove the new line part of this. I hope these hints will help, but let me know if you're still stuck! :sparkles:
