Help with 3 database JOIN

I don't understand how this work, when we have 3 tables.

One use for joining three tables would be to display the transactions/purchases for people. Table 1: people Table 2: products Table 3: transactions

SELECT people.first_name, products.name
FROM people

INNER JOIN transactions
ON transactions.people_id = people.id

INNER JOIN products
ON products.id = transactions.products_id

ORDER BY people.first_name, transactions.transaction_date, products.name
