I was asked to build a site for my local Airshow association group (some personal friends). I want to make a great impression as I want to use to use this as proof on my profile.
The site is not finished and the color scheme is not the final one. I am still working on the responsiveness of the site as well.
Can people please check it out and tell me what they think. Most importantly I would really like some feed back and suggestions.

It looks good so far.
For me, I like the current color scheme you are using. The only two things I can see that I would change both include the top nav bar. First, the 'home' is being overlapped by the logo. Second, when you scroll down, it disappears, but when you start to scroll up, it suddenly reappears.
The only other thing (aesthetically) that I don't care for is the black bottom border and blue translucent background on "Peace Region Air Show 2016". In my opinion, I'd just get rid of both and just the plain font.
Other than that... looks really good. Making Alberta proud! :)

9,181 Pointslol, I think we are on the same page. Most of what you mention crossed my mind at one point. As far as the navigation bar disappearing, it's suppose to do that , it's the headroom.js plugin. My friend liked it on another site and asked if I could put that in to see what it looks like. I honestly don't like it either I might set it to 'fixed' and make it a little transparent. Thank you a million for your help :)

7,035 PointsI like the look of the site generally. How about if you picked up the reddish pink of the airplane for the h2 color instead of yellow? Just as a thought, since the yellow strikes me as a bit jarring. I like the airplane that goes across the top with the nav bar. That's cute.

9,181 PointsI made a few changes and I also removed the yellow in the headings. Everyone mentioned it was an eye sore lol. Love the feedback I am getting :)

I like the menu to stay there, nice work. Red is better than yellow, as the brand use red.
Did you try some darken gradient in the image? I was just playing with it:

7,035 PointsI like it a lot. It's been fun to watch this improve from something I thought looked pretty good to something I think looks a lot better. Is there a good reason why the jet over home doesn't go away as you mouse over the other nav links?

9,181 PointsI got this email from my friend today, maybe someone can help me with some pointers as to what she is referring to:
"Not sure if you can open this or not, but if you can, maybe you could use this to inspire you about our website. I will send you notes about the website today...at some point, but one thing for sure is I would like it to be more "Dynamic" or more alive feel? Also see attached my letters heading and our sponsorship program for an idea of what image we are sending to people."
"For the style, I am thinking something clean, fun and easy. Don't have many examples for you, but i put an attachment and Houzz.com. If I find any or get the theme for the show next year, I will send it to you."
I was planning on making the main image background change image every few seconds so that should help a little. But honestly, she hasn't been to clear on what she wants so I am building blind here.
Honestly, I don't think she likes the site. What should I ask here so that I can get a clear image of what she wants?

9,181 PointsGreat suggestions. I added yellow text to h2 because it felt to dark and the site is supposed to be for a community/town event. I removed the shadows and I am making a few changes. Thank you for your feedback. I will work on it tonight and update you all when I am finished :)
