HELP with Java

I just dont understand the question I think

IO.java 
// I have imported java.io.Console for you.  It is a variable called console.
String firstName = ("Keane");
console.readLine("%s", firstName);
String lastName = ("Fraser");
console.readLine("%s", lastName);
console.printf("First name: %s", firstName);

Hey Keane you don't need to use console.readLine() in this case, it simply wants you to print the firstName and lastName variables. 

// I have imported java.io.Console for you.  It is a variable called console.
String firstName = console.readLine();
String lastName = console.readLine();
console.printf("First name: %s\n", firstName);
console.printf("Last name: %s\n", lastName);
