Hosting Icon Packs and Vector Images?

I have a few icon sets I have made that are also available for download, but they are hosted on deviantArt. When displaying these in my portfolio would I just provide a presentation image then link to deviantArt for the downloads, or should I find another way to host these? How safe would providing a download via my portfolio site be and how should I approach this?

Many people use links (or images) on their own site to a zip file in a shared file site or application, such as Dropbox.
