How come my .svg files are rendering so jaggy when I make them bigger?

I'm using some icons from the noun project. I downloaded an icon that I wanted to enlarge for the landing page. The icon looks fine small but it becomes jaggy in one or two areas when enlarged. The file is a svg. I thought svgs were like vector files, rendered by math and stuff, not pixels. Picture provided http://imgur.com/rYQmOjp I'm using chrome and safari. Same thing happens. How can I fix it?
