How do developers think while they are developing their Projects

I am currently learning java and got curious about how do developers think while they are starting out their project because when I am working on the Karaoke project( which is in the java tract) Craig is there to tell what the next step should be but when I think of a good project to work on my own I am clueless how to start ??.....Is it too early and should I give it a little bit of time

i think everyone struggles with ideas. Maybe try googling 'beginner java projects' and maybe look for projects that use the java technology that interests you (eg. if you want to create desktop apps then 'java javafx projects for beginners'). And it will take a while for java techniques to sink in.
