How do I record return value in var?

I don't understand how to return a value to a var inside a function using an argument?

function returnValue( test ) { var echo = test; return test; }

//var echo = test; //returnValue("yum");

The task 2 code should be placed after the function.

It looks like you created the echo variable inside the function instead of after it.

But your code in quotes at the bottom is almost what you need for task 2. Just combine those lines into one and you should have it:

var echo = returnValue("yum");  // the value returned by the function is assigned to "echo"
