Treehouse Moderator 145,860 PointsHi there,
Unless you are absolutely restricted to using Safari, I would strongly recommend using Chrome for your Development, especially while learning here on Treehouse. Pretty much all instructors and courses are taught using Chrome, so it will be much easier to follow along if you are also using Chrome. Also, Safari really is not designed for Development, and in my opinion, is just a sub-par browser all together.
Chrome is a free download.
I use Chrome (occasionally Firefox) for everyday use, and only Chrome for Development. If you must use Safari, you can check out the Apple Docs on how to enable the Developer tools, because they are not usually active by default.
Keep Coding! :)

If you’re a web developer, the Safari Develop menu provides tools you can use to make sure your website works well with all standards-based web browsers.
If you don’t see the Develop menu in the menu bar, choose Safari > Preferences, click Advanced, then select “Show Develop menu in menu bar”.
