The field of Data Analytics is enormous. It is therefore difficult to give a comprehensive overview of what kinds of activities it can be applied to in a business. However, data analytics is often used to enhance DECISION-MAKING through the creation of Business Intelligence (BI).

This enhanced decision-making can help a company anticipate problems, critically analyse trends in commercial activity, assist strategic planning and much much more.

The application of data analytics ultimately depends on the nature and requirements of a business, the technical capabilities of its employees and the kind of data the business generates.

Depends on the business and what they plan to use your data for.

For example Tinder do an incredible amount of Data Analytics.

They use the data gathered to improve their service by discovering mathmatical patterns between different type of people that they can use to make better matches for example.

This information is also gold dust to many other companies in the same field of work (In tinders case dating and attraction).

For example they have found that male users swipe right for roughly the same reasons as most other men and if you were to graph out our results its pretty much a 50/50 curve.

But for female users the decisions to swipe right has a multitudue of different variables that they are discovering everyday.
