How is my argument not being stored in the variable?

I cannot understand why I'm getting an error saying that my argument is not being passed into the variable "echo". Very new to coding, thanks!

Your interpretation of this question is just a bit off. You are setting echo inside your function, when really what the challenge is looking for is that you call returnValue and assign the output to a variable called echo.

Remember that when a function returns a value you can assign that value to a variable by writing the function call on the right side of the = sign used to declare said variable.

Hopefully that explanation is enough of a nudge in the right direction :P
