In the job descriptions, I see specifically mentioned as role for an Information Architect but if you go down further you see that all the responsibilities matches that of a UX Designer. Please explain the difference.

Courses Plus Student 46,022 PointsAccording to Wikipedia, Information Architecture (IA) is the designing of environments that share information, or the art/science of organizing and labeling software products. In (slightly) simpler terms, information architects focus on designing, building, integrating, and organizing systems that manage information.
So, it seems that IA could be considered a subset of UX (someone correct me if I'm wrong). An IAer is a specialized type of UXer.

The acronym IA (unlike the similar acronym UX) refers to both Information Architecture as well as a Information Architect, I don't think they use the term IAer for that reason.
