How much do web freelancers generally charge?

I was wondering what you successful freelancers charge to make a website?

I thought this was a nice article talking about how much you should charge someone as a freelancer: https://medium.com/dear-design-student/pricing-ad00ad5c4b7f

Love that article! Thank you!

This article is pretty much spot on and shares a lot of similarities with other articles I've read in the past.

Taking it one step further, do you plan to pursue this as a full-time career? If so, you'll want to decide what you want to earn as your 'take home' (net income) should be.

Found some online calculators that might help out

Thanks Rob! Those are some great links!

Hi Cameron!

It really depends what you are being asked to do. For example, charges would be a lot higher if you were asked to make a forum-site from scratch with Ruby than they would if you were just asked to make a simple static webpage in HTML & CSS.

Hey Luke!

Let's say for a small business or a creative individual - a cool, static page.

Once again it depends on the some factors such as the amount of time needed to create the page and also how much you want to charge. If we are talking about a fairly time consuming job though we are talking at least a couple of hundred dollars.

This is quite a hard question to answer though as it is affected by so many different factors so the possibilities of payments could range into the tens of thousands in reality.

Ya I get it.
