How to accept online payments for a non-business?

Hello everyone,

I have a friend who's planning to sell some digital arts (PDF, JPG paintings) online.

She wants to have her own (sort of) online shop. I have been going through the internet and all online payment APIs require her to register a business and be legally registered as a company.

My client is not plannig to become a big company (at least for now). She just wants to sell her paintings to those who are interested.

Is there any specific API/Service that can grant her request? I know PayPal Premier is the perfect account for her but she's located in Turkey and PayPal has suspended its services there.

Can anyone help me with this problem? I'd be happy to hear from you.

P.S. the reason I've categorized this under PHP is that the website I've created for her is written in PHP.

Thanks, Arash

Hello Arash, Have you tried https://dlocal.com/? I don't know if it is any good, but it's the platform that's been used to collect donations by wikipedia in my country (Argentina), and according to the site it accepts payments from emerging countries, and Turkey is among the list. I've sent them an email this weekend to them asking for more information about their services, (to compare them with the service that I've already use mercadopago.com), but they haven't replied to me yet. You can try mercadopago.com as well, but I'm not sure if it works in Turkey... Hope this helps you. Cheers, Victoria
