How to approach building a php mvc project?

Hi! Does anyone have any good resources for how to build a mvc based php project from scratch for a beginner?

I just wanted to know if I was working on my own, how should I approach building the structuring the project. Any good books/articles/videos on it? I have done a few codecourse courses which are good and I understand some, I just want to get a bit more of an understanding of why they are doing what they are doing and why in that order.
