How to automate my Mac with ruby?

Hello all, I want to create a GUI app that preforms some automated actions. Like opening a mac app (ex. sublime text) and typing some text into it. Executing other app specific command and so on. How can I achieve this with ruby. Or is there other ways to do it? If what I want to create is not clear for you,here is a mac app that does it very well Keyboard Maestro.
