How to get web development clients?

Hi treehouse community,

I am a web developer. I know html, css , php , javascript and mysql. I also have experience with Wordpress and Joomla. Now, I want to start working with some web development clients but I am not sure how to go about doing that.

I would love to hear other people's experience with getting clients. Any tips, advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

There are many ways to get clients. I've been freelancing for a little over 10 years with projects here and there.

If you haven't done so yet, create a portfolio site with some work examples. If you don't have any projects to show off, make some simple projects to showcase your skills. On your site, create a blog and explain your process for each of the projects.

If you're looking for immediate work, I would recommend a freelance website like outsource.com
