You want to define your function with two parameters, and you can call them anything you want - they're just placeholders. I've called mine num1 and num2. Then, inside the curly braces, you'll create and if statement that checks if your first parameter is bigger than your second parameter. If the first one is bigger, it will return in. Otherwise it will move on to the else section where it will return the other parameter instead (and we're assuming that one of the parameters is bigger than the other - they are not equal).

function max(num1, num2) {
  if (num1 > num2) {
   return num1;
  } else {
   return num2;
  }
}
