How to invoice if the client wants changes done to the website?

Hi all,

Invoicing, charging and asking for money from people is always an awkward subject.

Basically, I have built a website (a couple of months ago) for my client who is happy and has paid in full. Now a couple of months later, they would like some content added and few changes to be made. It will probably take some hours for these changes to be made.

I would like some advice in how I would approach my client in terms of payment?

I would give the customer a call and talk, and say something along the following lines:

Hey Bob, I can do the changes you wanted for the website. I'm able to start the job next Saturday. It will take me roughly 5 hours to complete the job. I'm currently charging $35/hour for my work to all my clients. So the whole job will probably cost you roughly about $140. Are you happy with that arrangement?

If they give you the yes . . . then go ahead and do it. If not plan something that suits both your need. ..
