how to pass value in variable?

What is wrong with my code... Thanks for your help

  var lenght;

}
returnValue( 'hello' );

lenght needs to be defined as a variable. You had:

 var echo

if you want to see the output you can do an alert alert(returnValue( 'hello' ));
