How up to date is the Android course?

I did the Android course a few years ago, in thinking of resuming now but I would like to know if it’s up-to-date, or if it’s still using older technologies that are no longer applicable.

I want to make sure I learn up-to-date stuff, and also not going to get stuck while following the course with Android studio or the latest tech

The early Android content is up-to-date with the latest tooling. Build a Simple Android app was recently refreshed, and Build an Interactive Story App was also updated earlier this year. Some of the later material still needs to be updated, but the core concepts still apply. For example, the Weather App course has some out-of-date pieces, but getting data from the web, working with an API, and building the UI are all the same despite being recorded with an older version of Android Studio.

Check out our Android Tracks, and I'd recommend starting with the Beginner Android Development, even if some of it is a review.

Ben!

Thanks for replying :)

I have fond memories of my fave Android instructor I was learning with a few years ago.

I has no idea they were updated, so tomorrow guess who’s enrolling again? Yaaaay.

Thanks a ton for replying, and hope you have a happy Thanksgiving.
