I am a US freelancer and I have potential clients located in Canada. Are there additional taxes or regulations I have to be concerned about?

Yes, there are concerns about taxes and regulations you should look into. Digital Ocean recently launched a data center in Canada and went through and had to address these issues as well. I suggest looking into the process DO went through for hints and links to more information.
