2,010 PointsI am totally stuck and don't know what to do
Our builder is ready! Add a new AlertDialog variable and create it from the builder. Then return it (instead of null). This is the question that I'm stuck on.
import android.content.Context;
import android.os.Bundle;
public class AlertDialogFragment extends DialogFragment {
@Override
public Dialog onCreateDialog(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
Context context = getActivity();
AlertDialog.Builder builder= new AlertDialog.Builder(context);
builder.setTitle("Sorry!")
.setMessage("Try again!")
.setPositiveButton("OK",null);
// Insert code here!
return null;
}
}
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;
import android.widget.Button;
import java.io.IOException;
public class MovieActivity extends Activity {
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_movie);
// Get some movie information!
String apiUrl = "http://api.rottentomatoes.com/api/public/v1.0/movies.json?apikey=xyz&q=hobbit";
OkHttpClient client = new OkHttpClient();
Request request = new Request.Builder()
.url(apiUrl)
.build();
Call call = client.newCall(request);
call.enqueue(new Callback() {
@Override
public void onFailure(Request request, IOException e) {
}
@Override
public void onResponse(Response response) throws IOException { }
});
}
}

14,780 PointsHey there Sambhav!
You almost got it! To finish task 3, all you need to do is create the dialog and return it - right now you are returning null.
So, you're going to want to create a new AlertDialog
variable, running the .create()
method from the builder
. After that, return this new variable and you should pass task 3.
As for task 4, try this yourself but, if you get stuck, I'll also leave you this explanation as to what you want to do:
Here, you will want to create a new AlertDialogFragment
variable and run the .show()
method from this variable, using getFragmentManager()
and "error_dialog"
as the two parameters.
As always, if there's any more problems you have or if you don't understand something here, give me a shout and I'll try my best to further explain it :)
