I begin to install git, but when it asks for the password, the console won't allow me to input type. I have to close it.

I am doing the git basics class and am using the console. I go to install git but every time it asks for the password, it doesn't allow me to input type, so I can't enter the password and continue with the tutorial.

Hi Holly,

I'm not sure if this is the case, but in the UNIX terminal when you are asked for the password you will not see any input, and you have to write it "blindly". Of course as you've probably seen, the password is mike the frog.

Let me know if this helps, or you were meaning something else. :)

Michael is correct, typically when entering passwords into the console, you won't see any indicator you are typing anything, but you actually are! Try entering your password and hit enter, and see if it takes it.
