I can't understand why this isn't working?

var randomNumber = getRandomNumber(10);
var guess;
var guessCount = 0;
var correctGuess = false;

function getRandomNumber( upper ) {
  var num = Math.floor(Math.random() * upper) + 1;
  return num;
}

do {
    guess = prompt("I am thinking of a number between 1 and 10. What is it?");
    guessCount += 1;

    if(parseInt(guess) === randomNumber) {
        correctGuess = true;
    }
} while ( ! correctGuess )

document.write('<h1>You Guess the number!</h1>');
document.write('It took you ' + guessCount ' tries to guess the number ' + randomNumber);

I'm not entirely sure why this isn't working / can't spot the syntax error I've made. Can anyone help?

I think the problem is that you forgot a + here between guessCount and "tries to guess the number"

document.write('It took you ' + guessCount + ' tries to guess the number ' + randomNumber);

Yes, just did some testing of my own in Chrome Dev Tools and can confirm, that is the problematic line.

I don't think that is correct Im having the same issue

var randomNumber = getRandomNumber(10); var guess; var guessCount = 0; var correctGuess = false;

function getRandomNumber( upper ) { var num Math.floor( Math.random()* upper ) + 1; return num; }

do { guess = prompt("I am thinking of a number between 1 and 10. what is it?"); } guessCount += 1;

if (parseInt(guess) === randomNumber) { correctGuess = true; } } while ( ! correctGuess )

document.write('you got it') document.write('it took ' + guessCount + 'tries to get ' + randomNumber + ' ');

''' var randomNumber = getRandomNumber(10); var guess; var guessCount = 0; var correctGuess = false;

function getRandomNumber( upper ) { var num Math.floor( Math.random()* upper ) + 1; return num; }

do { guess = prompt("I am thinking of a number between 1 and 10. what is it?"); } guessCount += 1;

if (parseInt(guess) === randomNumber) { correctGuess = true; } } while ( ! correctGuess )

document.write('you got it') document.write('it took ' + guessCount + 'tries to get ' + randomNumber + ' '); '''
