I do not have a launch workspace option on my JavaScript course.

Hello! I just started the JavaScript Basics Course and I do not have the 'Launch Workspace' button that I've seen when looking up how to create a Treehouse workspace. I've had to manually create workspaces and I don't have the proper files or code to do the assignments.

Hey Dakota Skye 👋

I'm not entirely sure which video you're on as this post was created in the general JavaScript channels and not linked to any content. Not all videos have Workspaces set up for them so it could be that the video you're working on doesn't provide a workspace.

It might also happen that a Launch Workspace button was provided in an earlier video in the workshop/course and you're expected to continue working in that workspace on the next video.

If neither is the case you could also start a workspace, including the files shown in the video by navigating to the workspaces tab underneath the video. Here you'll find the workspaces related to the course you're working on that were created previously, if none ex i you can create a fresh workspace with the same starting point as shown in the video.

I hope this helps to get you going again! If not, let me know and we'll dig a little deeper into this issue 🙂

Happy Coding! 🚀

Hello! I'm very sorry I didn't provide a lot of information for my last post, thank you for your patience!

I am currently working on the JavaScript Practice Challenge in the JavaScript Basics course. I do not see a Launch Workspace button, and when I click on the Workspace tab it says, "Looks like you need to create the Workspace for this video."

Here's what I see

Something I also want to mention is that I started using Treehouse three days ago and I got this through the Humble Bundle pack. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I thought I'd mention it just in case!

Hey Dakota Skye,

No worries at all! That video indeed supposed to have a workspace attached to it. On my end the create a workspace part of the sentence in the Workspaces tab is a link and clicking it should set up a new workspace. It doesn't look like a link in your screenshot but could you double check to see if that indeed is not a link on your end?

If that workaround is not working for you, I'd recommend reaching out to Treehouse Support for further assistance. I'm not familiar with the specific pack you're referring to, so the support team would be in a better position to provide more detailed guidance 🙂

Alternatively you could also choose to download the project files underneath the video and work in a local text editor like VS Code. While it might be a little less convenient to set up, a local text editor comes with more flexibility and features 😄

Hope this helps!

I ran into the same issue and found this thread while googling the sentence "Looks like you need to create the Workspace for this video." because it wasn't visually clear to me that a portion of the text was a link. Once I read the above response and checked I realized the link was in fact there and working correctly for me, just no visual indication.
