Hi. What help do you need exactly?

I've started a techdegree for Front End Web Development, and about to start the first project. It's pretty easy going, if you havent' done front end web development before, I suppose it's easy going and useful, otherwise if you have then you may find it a refresher. So far in the tutorials they covered semantic HTML5 mark up language, and some very minimal CSS. It's quite a large programme though, as I believe they will be covering things like SCSS later on, as well as Javascript. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your help.

I would save your money but that’s just my personal opinion.

Thank you!

Hi Rachel,

There are a few major benefits of the Techdegree that you won't find in the basic Treehouse subscription:

  1. 12 real-world projects: the program challenges you to build 12 real-world projects. Each project matches the skills you should have at that point in the Techdegree, so you get an opportunity to put what you've learned into practice, on your own. When you're done you'll not only have built a complete portfolio site, but will also have projects to showcase in your portfolio.
  2. Project feedback: each project is individually reviewed by either a Treehouse staff member or a more advanced student.
  3. Online chat support: the Techdegree also includes a private chat system for students to talk with each other and with Treehouse staff about the Techdegree and the projects.
  4. Techdegree-only content: some content, like job search videos, are only available to Techdegree students.
  5. Certificate of achievement: upon completing the projects, and a 2-hour proctored exam, you'll receive a certificate of achievement that you can highlight on your resume or LinkedIn account. You can see a certificate from one of our grads here: https://www.credential.net/10373773

You can, of course, still learn a lot from the basic subscription, but I feel like the Techdegree is a great choice for students who are highly motivated to learn, build a portfolio and start a new career.

Thanks for being a Treehouse student!

I think I'm going stay with the basic for now but thank you for your help!
