HTML Introduction to HTML and CSS (2016) Getting Familiar with HTML and CSS Test: Changing the Look of a Web Page

i don't understand what i'm doing wrong

i still don't understand what I'm doing wrong here

index.html
<!doctype html>
<html>
  <head>
    <link href="styles.css" rel="stylesheet">
  </head>
  <body>

    <h1>Welcome to My Web Page!</h1>

  </body>
</html>
styles.css
header
{
color: purple
}
  1. You don't have a header
  2. If you are trying to change the text color of your h1 tag then you forgot your semicolon
h1 {
  color: purple;
}

Actually, the semicolon is optional on the last property. But it is a "best practice" to always use it.

You're close.

But the challenge said to "Change the color of the h1 tag to purple.". And you wrote "header" instead of "h1".

Just change it to h1 and you will pass.
