I downloaded filezilla but it installed malware with the program. Has anyone else had this problem?

The wordpress course recomends downloading filezilla, I went to the website to download filezilla but they host the files on source forge, this installed malware with the program. Has anyone else had this problem?

When you install filezilla there is a checkbox asking if you want to install additional "programs". So uninstall filezilla repeat the process, but uncheck in the installation window. :)

Thanks but it didn't give me the option to accept or not, it's source forge that has attached it to the download file when it's installed and filezilla knows about it as well from the forum postings on their website. It installed on my computer and all of my browsers and I can see on their forums other people had the same problem.

The response from filezilla is that you can decline third party offers but when you click download filezilla you get multiple .exe files with the same name filezilla installer. All the same file name so it's not clear which is the correct install file. They are deliberately including fake installation files with malware on source forge, it's not part of the one installation package.

Try downloading filezilla from the website which directs you to source forge and see the files that are actually downloaded if you get the chance, it's not just refusing third party offers in installation.

Would be good if there was another location to download this from, it was recommended in the course and maybe they could check the download links and provide a download link to the software or choose other ftp software to recommend in the courses if there are malware or download issues like I have experienced.
