Java Java Objects (Retired) Harnessing the Power of Objects Method Signatures

I have added a method drive that defines a parameter laps. These high-powered GoKarts use 1 energy bar off their battery

My code: public void drive(int laps) { mBarsCount -= laps; }

public void drive() { drive(1); }

I got the quiz correct, but isn't this redundant? Couldn't i have just used

GoKart.drive(1);

and not need to make the second drive method?
