18,674 PointsEthan Newell Hey Ethan, so with anchor tags you can link and scroll to sections within the current page if you have elements on your page with id attributes. The way you link the anchor tags to these sections is by setting the ID on the element you want to scroll to, for example:
<p id="scrollToMe">Hello<p>
Once you have set the ID on the element you want to scroll to, you set the anchor tags href to reference that ID like so:
<a href="#scrollToMe">Click Me To Scroll To Section</a>
However, in this specific instance, HTML has a built in ID for scrolling to the top of the page. So because of that, you don't have to put an element with a specified ID at the top, you can simply have your anchor tag reference "top" as follows:
<a href="#top">Click Me to Scroll To Top</a>
Hope this helps!
