If I start learning swift for iOS, can I take those skills to OS X?

So very interested in swift but more on an OS X level and not an iOS level. If I start learning swift for iOS, can I use those skills when creating programs for OS X?

Pretty much. Just like writing with Objective-C previously, Swift is the new recommended language for both iOS and OSX. The language itself will be the same, but libraries and other options will change in terms of their availability in the actual operating system.
