How can I remedy this problem? I'm using the latest version of chrome on Windows 8.

I have this problem sometimes as well. While I don't know what's causing it, usually I can get it working again either by restarting the browser, or sometimes I need to reboot my PC.
It's worth noting that these steps may just be coincidental and the problem could be network related - like temporary slow internet, or temporary network issues with the workspaces server.
In any case, the issue has always been temporary. But, if you continue experiencing this on a regular basis, consider contacting support.
