Just wondering what I am doing wrong

CodeChallenge.cs
int value = -1;
string textColor = null;

public checkcolor()

You probably don't want to perform assignments inside a ternary.

Instead, use the ternary to determine the value to assign:

variable = condition ? true_value : false_value;
