I'm not really understanding.

I'm not entirely sure how this works, I'm just not getting this concept for this challenge.

Example.java 
// I have initialized a java.io.Console for you. It is in a variable named console.
String response = console.readLine("Do you understand do while loops?");
do {
  if (no)

You forgot the while statment for the do while loop :) Also declare the variable outside the loop.

String response;
do{
  response = console.readLine("Do you understand do while loops?");
}while(response == "No");

why do you double equals when writing your while?

One "=" means you assign for example a value to a variable and two "==" is an expression for an comparison between two values (variables,numbers,strings). In this challenge the do while loop will run at least one time till it reaches the while statment and checks if the string in response matches the entered string "No" and it will run until there not equal anymore. :)
