i'm stuck and not sure what is wrong with my code, it says i have a parse error.

the problem may be that i was using the arguments as variables. how can i compare them to see which is the greater of the two?

script.js 
function max(firstNumber, secondNumber) {
  if firstNumber > secondNumber {
    return firstNumber;
}
  else {
    return secondNumber;
  }

Hi ashley,

You should put your comparison in between () to make it work.

when your using an if statement you should always use it like so:

if ( number1 > number2 ) {
    do something
}
