Image file size, RWD

Hi,

I have a responsive website which uses a few 1200x800 images on the homepage. Obviously this is a large file size, and a lot is wasted when using a smaller screen/media query.

What is the best tool/technique for loading only the required file size/dimensions depending on devices?
