Hi,
I tried to contact treehouse so I'm not sure if I'ma allowed to post this. I'm a former student (RUBY) and wanted to give back.
My company is looking for a summer intern for a design project. It's about a 4-6 week project and has a small salary.
Here are some more details:
Skills Required
- CSS
- HTML
- Javascript (nice to have but not required)
- Self starter
- Passion for understanding the user
- A belief that UX is more than just UI and includes all user-centered design activities from research, concepts,, flows, sitemaps, wireframes, prototypes, annotations, and more.
What will you get out of this?
Intern will get an opportunity to work on a real web application in a real software development.
The intern will learn 3 core concepts and skills.
Jobs to be Done (JTBD) Framework - The JTBD framework will give a tangible approach to a designing a user experience. The JTBD framework includes functional, social, and emotional needs of the users. By using this framework, the intern will learn the value of predesign steps like customer interviews, survey, and other data collection techniques.
Agile Development (scrum) - The intern will get hands on experience of how a product team develops using scrum methodologies.
Usability Testing - The intern will learn the techniques and skills to do proper usability testing on their own design

32 PointsHi Matthew,
We are based out of the Washington DC area now. However, we are not against having a remote intern under the right circumstances.

We posted the internship through Maryland, George Mason, and Marymount universities (I'm not sure if you have access to any of those). If you are interested in the position you can send me your resume/portfolio directly. Derek@Patient Studio.
