Is it possible to run Android Studio from a flash drive or external hard drive?

Android Studio seems to be taking up a ton of memory and causing everything else to run slowly, & my computer has 4GB of RAM.

Is it possible to store Android Studio and Java on an external drive?

There would be no use in this. The exact same amount of RAM would still be used regardless on where the application is located.

If you are having issues then either upgrade your RAM or shut down all other applications whilst you are working in android studio.
