Courses Plus Student 3,973 PointsIs it worth doing the Laravel course on treehouse or are they too outdated?
I love treehouse, it has been great and I really like the style of teaching.
However, I want to move on and learn Laravel. From my understanding, Laravel is on version 5.
The course on treehouse covers version 4.
Would it be beneficial to do this course or would you recommend I use other resources (such as laracasts)
My main concern is that am afraid that I would be learning outdated material, which would be a waste of time.
Would like to hear other opinions.
Thanks!

28,149 PointsI think that Laravel 4 courses will still give you a solid foundation in Laravel so that you can figure out what changed and how to adjust for it in Laravel 5. It shouldn't be a complete waste of time. You just might run into some errors if you follow the Laravel 4 videos while you use Laravel 5.

Courses Plus Student 4,638 Pointsneeded to learn laravel 5 because of a new job, found the treehouse laravel 4 courses very userfull, much more usefull than other sites that had courses on laravel 5
if you do want a laravel 5 course check laracasts.com, the laravel documentation is also very good easy to follow
you could do a combination of all these like i did
