Is latest version of the download okay to get?

Do i have to download the archived versions? If not, do i need anything other than workbench or community server to be able to run the programs and follow the treehouse lessons without issues? Also for latest MySQL workbench there is no indicator for "GUI tool", is that a problem?

I downloaded the workbench but the GUI has completely changed and there is no option to create a new server instance. Not sure how to proceed from here.
