Android Android Lists and Adapters (2015) Lists with RecyclerViews Using a Layout Manager

is there an equivalent of "@android:id/empty” in RecyclerViews

With ListViews we saw how to use the special "@android:id/empty” which will be used when the list view item binding is empty. Do we have an equivalent to that in RecyclerView
