I've hit a wall.

Hi everyone.

I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue.

I've been on and off coding for a few years. I have a degree in computing but I never had the courage to use it. I mean myself I never really though i was good enough. I was never really able to retain the information and I did have a brief period were I did give up.

I have recently found love for coding again I've been with Treehouse since March and I have changed courses on and off because I could not find the right one which fits me. I am currently doing Front end courses.

I have been applying for jobs and always getting denied because of my lack of experience. I am trying to find a junior role because I think they are a bit lack thereof. (in the UK) and it does make me feel like I am stuck in a rut.

I guess what I am trying to say is. Has anyone else had the same issue?

I apologize in advance for the ramble.

As an alternative to experience, you might try putting together a portfolio of work done. This won't impress every potential employer, but combined with your degree it might be enough for some roles at some employers.

If possible, mix speculative work with actual sites in your portfolio. You might find opportunities to donate development time to charitable or other public-outreach organizations, and those sites could be featured in your portfolio.
