Macaw or Pinegrow?

Whats peoples opinions on each?

Having a search on google brings up a lot of positive feedback on pinegrow, due to its price and features. Would it compete with Macaw in terms of its feature list?

They both seem like great little tools to do great mock ups and wireframes in.

I prefer Macaw over Pinegrow, mainly because of the UI, innovation, and good design habits. However, a lot of people seem to really like Pinegrow. I've never tried Pinegrow since purchasing Macaw for $50 off in a prerelease, but it's even less money now with the learner offer.

I think both of them have free trials, and both apps are still in their early stages.

P.S. Here's an article which discusses some of these new tools. A lot of the commenters wonder why Pinegrow wasn't mentioned, so they gave their advice—some of which preferred Pinegrow over Macaw. I think Macaw had a rough start with a few things, but they've always added features and updates on a regular basis.

Yea that is the article I was reading and how I found out about pinegrow. I have downloaded pinegrow and will give it a bash over the next 7 days and see how it is. Haven't given macaw a chance and my trial ran out a long time ago. But its good that they offer a learner price, still out of my budget being student and all.

When I first started I thought these tools were going to make me good at designing websites, and don't get me wrong, they have tons of features, and ways to make the process a little smoother.

However, I wouldn't spend money on web design tools just yet, especially until you learn a few things and are more familiar. Many of these new tools have a ways to go before most people can use them fully in a workflow.

There's plenty of free wireframe tools out there. Here's one to keep an eye on: http://www.justinmind.com/

Cheers I'll have a look into this.
