Maybe a bug?

When looking under the preview, the code is actually running properly. All the text color has changed, but then it says it doesn't pass and suddenly the text reverts to the original color of black. I'm not sure what's going on.

      <li>This should be green</li>
      <li>This should be blue</li>
      <li>This should be indigo</li>
      <li>This should be violet</li>
    </ul>
    <script src="js/app.js"></script>
  </body>
</html>
js/app.js
let listItems = document.getElementById('rainbow');
const colors = ["#C2272D", "#F8931F", "#FFFF01", "#009245", "#0193D9", "#0C04ED", "#612F90"];

for(var i = 0; i < colors.length; i ++) {
  listItems[i].style.color = colors[i];
}

You're close, but the challenge is looking for a collection of all the individual list items, and your function call returns the list itself as a single element.

Hint: the list items are all children of the list.

ah, so rainbow was a red herring. Thank you. :)

I wouldn't say "red herring", it's part of the solution. Just not the whole thing by itself.
