Media Queries not working

My media Query code is working on desktop but it is not working in Mobile view If the <meta> tag is not there why so? even if the width lies under the given requirements. My code was @media screen and (min-width: 600px) and (max-width: 800px){ header{ color: yellow; } } it is not even working in iPad as well whose width is 768px
