Meta tags don’t have a closing tag

In the quiz new html featuresthere is this question-(Meta tags don’t have a closing tag),maybe Im missing something but I dont remember any explanation in any prior videos about this specific topic,

It may not have been explicitly pointed out, but in the code examples that were shown it could be seen that "meta" is a "void element" with no closing tag.
