Once I purchase several domain names (each with their own website), will I be able to use a hosting service for all of the websites? For instance, does Treehouse own separate servers and hosting names for treehouse.com and csstricks.com?

2,521 PointsDomain name registration and web hosting are two different (although related) things. It is best if you have your web hosting with the same company that is also your domain name registrar. But it's not technicly necessary. The number of web sites you can host with a single hosting account depends on the terms of service for you web host. And, there are tricks that let you host several small web sites by using sub directories in your hosting account. And I should poiint out that, depending on traffic, a server can host several web sites, with several domain names.

Just to clarify, css-tricks.com isn't owned or affiliated with Team Treehouse, Chris Coyier who owns CSS Tricks advertises the Treehouse brand to introduce new students here on teamtreehouse.com.

Yes, the vast majority of web hosts now days allow you to add as many addon domains to your account as you please which allows you to create domain specific folders for your account so that everything is separated.
You don't need a separate server unless you have a site you know will take up a lot of resources.
